Now I think it is time to get to the nitty gritty and really see what this console is like. First off there is the size which is 100% better than the previous model as it is not as bulky or heavy. Also like the previous console there is no hard drive poking it's way off the top and sticking miles out making the already big XBOX even bigger.
The next big difference is when you come to switch the console on and wonder if you have it switched on as it is so quiet. This is a huge improvement over the prior XBOX as when that one was switched on it sounded as if was about to blow up or take off which made it difficult to hear the games as all you could hear was the fans and also the disk drive reading the game which was really disappointing. When playing games on the new XBOX there is still only a whisper of sound and it makes playing games a more enjoyable experience.
As most people know the old XBOX was known for it unreliability and most of this was surrounded by the RROD ( Red Ring Of Death) which was caused mainly from overheating issues. Microsoft claim that they have been able to solve this problem to make the new XBOX a more reliable purchase. They say that to protect their new console the 360 continually monitors the temperature it is operating at and if it detects that the temperature is raising above they operation temperature it will display a message on your screen telling you it is shutting down to prevent your console from further damage due to insufficient ventilation and you should be able to use the console when the power light stops flashing red.
Also new the 360 S is a brand new controller finished in black and has a chrome XBOX guide button replaced from the previous finished in grey one. The new controller also feels more sturdy and the materials feel overall 100% better not just on the controller but the whole console feels more better built and will last for years to come.
Also new for the console is Kinect which is available for the old console but has to use a separate power socket to make it work where as the new console has a purpose built USB on the back of the console. Kinect removes the need for a control as you are the control either through movement or speech. This works as Kinect has cameras that watch your movements of all your body and a really cool feature of this is there is a mirror as such in the bottom of the screen which shows you what Kinect is seeing. Although Kinect is sold separately and is expense it is worth purchasing as it is fun for all the family and looks really cool and is definitely a rival for the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation's iplay.
Overall I give the new console a 9.5/10 and as for any problems that could arise in the future with this console we will have to wait and see if Microsoft's word of a more reliable and better built console really exists.
